By using the AE Shift, you can add or take away a bit of exposure to make slight adjustments to the brightness levels to compensate for backlighting.

The 2 inch LCD view finder is big and bright on the Canon XL2 and you can flip up the magnifying eyepiece and view the LCD from a distance when the camera is on a tripod.

This camera can shoot 60i, 30p and 24p frame rates that can be switched with ease with the knob on the side of the camera.

The XL2 features Canon’s renowned XL Interchangeable Lens System for outstanding versatility and comes with a 20x Optical Fluorite zoom lens with Super Range Optical Image Stabilizer.

The Canon XL2 features 16:9 and 4:3 aspect ratio shooting formats. The 16:9 ratio is the ratio for film-based movies and in this ratio your footage can be played back on widescreen TVs and HDTVs.
